Dr. Kai-ping Wang is an Adult, Adolescent & Child Psychiatrist in Hoboken. He was selected for the combined seven-year program (B.A./M.D.) of Drew University and the New Jersey Medical School of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  He was awarded as a Drew Scholar and completed his Bachelor of Arts in a double major of Biology and Philosophy.  After graduating medical school, Dr. Wang completed his adult psychiatry residency at Saint Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan, an academic medical center of the New York Medical College.  He is a graduate of the child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at New York University Medical School's nationally recognized Child Study Center and Bellevue Hospital.  Dr. Wang has worked with diverse underserved populations at Hamilton-Madison House, University Settlement in New York City, and Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center.  Currently, he works at the Renfrew Center of Northern New Jersey in Ridgewood.

 

Dr. Wang is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology.  He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the New Jersey Psychiatric Association, and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists.  He has a certificate in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in Children and Adolescents from the New York University Psychoanalytic Training Institute.

 

Dr. Wang specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults with issues such as Attention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder (AD/HD), anxietydepression, work or school function, interpersonal issues, family and parenting, and workplace dynamics.  He utilizes psychodynamic and play therapy and, if indicated, medication.  He provides consultations for diagnosis and treatment recommendations to treating physicians.  He lives in New Jersey with his wife and twin boys.
