Clinical psychologists are mental health professionals with doctoral degrees, usually a Ph.D. or Psy.D. They are trained to treat and evaluate mental illnesses.  Depending on their areas of specialization, they may perform specialized cognitive or psychological testing or conduct specific therapies. The largest national organization of psychologists is the American Psychologial Association.
